Meet the ADD ADHD Coach!
Kay Axtell, MA, SCAC, received her ADD ADHD Coach Training from the American Coaching Association, and is certified by the Institute for the Advancement of ADHD Coaching as a Senior Certified ADHD Coach. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Loretto Heights College in Denver and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Denver.
She has been coaching children, adolescents and adults with ADD and ADHD symptoms for the past nine years. Prior to that, she taught high school special education classes, for over 21 years.
She coaches parents, adolescents, and adults both in person and on the phone.
In addition to coaching, she has facilitated groups for ADHD teens, women, adults and couples, and conducted presentations regarding ADD and ADHD issues to parents, schools, and college and university audiences.
She stays abreast of current research and successful coaching strategies through reading, coursework, and attending conferences.
Kay specializes in the areas of career choices, organizational challenges, relationships, stress management, and advocacy in the schools.
She collaborates with clients to custom design frameworks, structures, and environments that make life more user friendly, successful, and productive.
Kay believes that ADD and ADHD people are unique, creative,sensitive, and intelligent. They are hunter-gatherers in a farmer’s world. They have a unique gift worthy of unwrapping. They have a great deal to offer the world. Coaching is the key to unwrapping that gift.
In addition to coaching, Kay facilitates workshops for parents and couples and does inservice training for school personnel.
